Red Cliff Movie Review
After a hectic week, finally manage to spend some quality time with wife and friends.
David has booked the tickets at The Cathay, as this cinema is probably one of the better ones as it features certified THX system and quality projector.
First impression of the movie is the CGI that is used was not as impressive as Lord of the Rings as I heard that Red Cliff is the chinese answer to Lord of the Rings. The movie will be split into two parts, the first which will talk about the alliance of Liu Bei and Sun Quan, the latter will be the battle at Chi Bi.
The pace of the movie is juz nice as compared to The Three kingdom. Fighting scenes are nice, thanks to the THX system, every wacks and smacks packs tight bass that actually makes you feel that you are part of the action.
As this is a John Woo production, so be sure that there's lotsa slow motion scenes and creative angles. The movie follows closely to the story of Romance of the Three Kingdom which I love very much.
One of the memorable scenes is Zhuge Liang use of the BaKua formation, abit exaggerating, but still Cool to watch.
For die hard Romance of the Three Kingdom fans, this is not a movie to miss.
